A Denver December

Recap of the last 2 months:

We were grateful Barr’s family wanted to take advantage of their Disneyland passes before they expired allowing us to see them several times. One of those trips was during Thanksgiving. It was nice having Tiffany, Jeff, and Mckenzie over for that week.

Emily celebrated her birthday at the happiest place on earth (I mean Disney, not our house!)
The closest Brooke ever got to Santa during the 3 different trips to visit him. It's definately a love/hate relationship!
The annual Christmas orchestra and choir performances.
With my round belly, I was the best candidate in our group to be made into Santa at a neighbor's Christmas party.

Brooke's school friends visiting her in the classroom during her party. We love how everyone is so good to her there.

We had to keep our tradition that started last year by going to In-N-Out on Christmas Eve. Barr was disappointed I wouldn’t agree to our Christmas morning tradition of having the missionaries over for breakfast. Right after opening presents, we were off to the airport for a fun trip to his parents’ home in Denver.

New Pajamas
The rest of us were too busy for pictures that morning.

One of the highlights of the week in Denver was skiing! Ben was adventurous enough to go off on some more challenging runs but that meant no pictures of him.

Anther fun day was spent at "Fun City".
Brooke actually had 2 hole-in-ones (with a little help from Barr).
Making cookies at the bakery with cousin Gracie.

The girls were boasting that we beat the boys at bowling; however, Ben quickly pointed out that we had 1 more player and if we took the average of the scores, they actually beat us by 4 points!

The boys spent a lot of time getting their video game fix, and we all worked up a sweat with "Just Dance". Who knew they could move like that?
Brittany spent a lot of the week down the street at Aunt Tiffany's house with "the girls".

Against my children’s pleas to keep the Christmas decorations up until next December, I was glad to get everything put away and start the new year. Brooke is still trying to understand time, months and waiting and still regularly asks when Santa is coming. My hundred’s of “Christmas is over” explanations only result in “Why?”.

Another example of her still emerging comprehension of time happened today when she woke up at 4:30 this morning, excited and wouldn’t go back to bed. She kept trying to go into Brigham’s room saying, “Wake up baby Bradley”. She was certain the baby had come last night. It’s because she was home sick yesterday from school so helped me go through some bins of old baby boy clothes, getting things ready for his arrival. Later that evening we were talking about how tomorrow was her cousin Bradley’s birthday. Since we are thinking of naming this baby Bradley, I think she got confused. She was disappointed that the crib wasn’t set up and there was no baby. “May” is such an abstract idea to her.

Bradley is a great name!!! Owen's middle name is Bradley. I wonder if Grandma Mains new how popular the name Bradley was going to be when she named Brian's dad Bradley. It's a great name!! I call Owen "O-Bradley" for fun!!
