Last Ohio Blog

After USC's victory over Ohio State Saturday night, we're feeling a little better about making the change from being Buckeyes to Trojans! Brittany's assured us she will remain a Buckeye fan and has been trying to collect as much Ohio State gear as possible since she's sure it will be hard to find in California.

As most of you already know, we bought a home in Orange County 2 weeks ago. I never thought I would buy a home that we had never seen, but drastic times call for drastic measures. We were getting tired of waiting on the short sale home we had on offer on for almost 2 months so started looking again online. We found this one and sent our realtor over. The next day we made an offer and agreed on a price with the sellers 1 hour before Barr's birthday. We had made the offer on the other home on my birthday so Barr told me that was my birthday present. I could now use the same cop out on him and say that this house is his birthday present. Which I think means he still owes me a gift!

Barr went out there last week for the inspection and to take some video of it so we can start to get excited. I think we will be very happy there. If we can just get through all the headache of moving!

The timing worked out very nicely as we sold our home the weekend after we bought one! We know that was an answer to a lot of prayers offered on our behalf.

As I look at the stacks of papers of things I need to do, I am thinking I may just have to post some pictures for the rest of our August and September update. Then that's one more thing I can check off my list!

Barr met his Uncle Ken in Michigan and participated in a half iron man race.

The pasta dinner the night before the big event.

Brooke turned 5 on August 13th. Her grandma and a few cousins came up to celebrate.

Brooke picked out little Kelly dolls for each person's cupcake. She did a great job matching them to how the people look.

Our annual cousin swap let us have Adam here for a week. We will miss getting to see him so much.

Enjoying our last day at Zoombeezi Bay

Barr wants me to get a tatoo like this one (Christopher is his real name if you were wondering).

I got a little emotional seeing my kids sit on the mushroom at the zoo that they have sat on every year. They are so much bigger than the first time I took their picture there.
Barr enjoyed seeing old friends at his 20-year High School reunion in Salt Lake. I guess they even wrote a song about him as part of the program. I'm mad that he stopped the video camera once he realized what they were singing. Makes me think he's hiding something!

Brigham had been asking all summer to go to a Columbus Clippers game to check out their new stadium. The other kids wanted to go for the snacks.

Frist day of school:
Ben in 7th
Brittany in 5th
Brigham in 3rd
Brooke in afternoon preschool
